Outdoor Playground for Exploration and Adventure
Set in a lush and green environment, Green Pastures is one of the few preschools in Singapore with an outdoor sandpit playground—a rare and valuable feature that offers children rich opportunities for exploration and hands-on learning. Located close to nature, our school provides an ideal environment to support both Discovery of the World and Motor Skills development. Children have a vast and safe outdoor space to run, jump, climb and hop, one of the daily highlights for our children.
Children regularly engage in meaningful outdoor experiences such as digging in the sand to search for beetle larvae, caterpillars, or seeds, fostering their understanding of the life cycles of plants and insects. Nature comes alive in our playground, where children observe hornbills flying near the trees, squirrels collecting fruit, and on rare occasions, monkeys visiting the area. One memorable moment involved the children watching a mynah and squirrel share papaya from one of our school’s fruit trees.These real-world encounters make learning authentic and exciting.
Spacious Compound for Different Activities
We have a large and airy compound with separate areas for learning, eating and rest. Children move between these different areas for different activities instead of remaining in the same classroom throughout the day. This model helps children become more adaptable and independent as they learn to manage transitions and routines in a structured way.
It also prepares them well for primary school, where they will move between different spaces such as classrooms and dining areas. By becoming familiar with this concept early on, children gain greater confidence and readiness for the next stage of their educational journey.
Engaging Activity and Learning Corners
Each classroom has its own activity corners where children have the freedom to choose their activities such as imaginative play, reading or art. These learning corners offer children opportunities to improve gross and fine motor skills, collaborate and build social skills as well as promote purposeful, joyful exploration.
